In July, the Utah Data Research Center (UDRC) presented a breakout session at the 2019 National Center for Education Statistics’ (NCES) STATS-DC Data Conference in Washington D.C. Jeremias Solari, program manager, shared the marketing philosophy of UDRC, while Britnee Johnston and Cory Stahle, UX researchers, shared how to build a user experience with a design style guide and R Markdown report template, and how to strategically market research and data products to stakeholders and the general public. To learn more, view this strategic marketing presentation handout.

Hundreds of conference attendees included research and data experts from the education sector from all 50 states. In addition to presenting, UDRC staff attended informative breakout sessions to learn about new data resources, data modeling examples from other states, best practices for evaluating programs, creating research agendas and upholding data quality standards.
